Embark on an epic adventure in Malaga that will awaken your inner explorer! Get ready for a multi-adventure experience combining kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling in the heart of a protected Natural Park. If you are looking for thrills and a genuine connection with nature, this challenge is for you.

The Expedition Breakdown:

The Journey Begins: Your expedition starts in the center of Malaga. We will meet you at the Malaga Activa Tours meeting point before taking you on a 50-minute drive into the wild.

The Hike: Once there, surrounded by untamed nature, you will pack a packraft (your inflatable kayak) into your backpack and set off on a 3-kilometer trek along trails with breathtaking landscapes.

Into the Water: But the adventure doesn’t stop there! Once you reach the water, you will inflate your kayak and paddle for 2 kilometers to a hidden beach accessible only by sea.

Secret Beach & Snorkeling: At this secret beach, you can dive into crystal-clear waters and explore marine life while snorkeling. It’s the perfect moment to experience absolute freedom.

You will learn to navigate like a true explorer and, after a refreshing swim, you’ll paddle back to the final stop of the expedition.

What you will do

We depart with the van from Malaga city center to the Natural Park. It is a 50 minutes drive.

09:30

We pack all the equiptment and we start the walk in the woods. It is a 1 hour walk carrying a backpack with the packraft and the snorkelling gear.

Guided kayak until the secluded beach.

12:30

Snorkel and discover the sealife. Relax on the secluded beach.

We kayak and hike the last part until the starting point. It is a round trip.

Drive back to Malaga city center.

FAQs

Yes. You can be picked up somewhere else if you are on the way to the natural park with an extra cost.

Yes. The activity can be done with normal shoes, sneakers. No with flip flops.

Since you have to carry a 3 kgs backpack it is recommended a minimum age of 12 years old

No. Some snacks are included but not a big meal. Please, have a good breackfast before we start. The activity is demanding.

Having vertigo or being afraid of heights is not important in this activity

Wonderful

This experience was wonderful! I got to go on a hike in a country I had never been to, which ended at a beautiful, secluded beach. Once arriving our group was able to swim for a couple of hours and relax after the hard work of the hike. Alfonso was a very pleasant and knowledgeable host! Our group met him at the pick up location and drove to the start of the hike (very mindful driver), where he gave us the low down on what to expect to see and how difficult the hike would be(if you are not mildly good hiker or have balance issues this may not be the experience for you). The area is beautiful and Alfonso knows a lot about the plantations, the area, hiking in general. I would totally recommend this, because you won't get to see this stunning beach otherwise! Thanks again!!

Wonderful

Alfonso was a wonderful host and guide! We went to a secluded place that was unique and very beautiful. There were no other hikers on the path and only our group enjoyed the beautiful beach. A great way to get out of the city and away from the tourists and connect with the natural environment. There is no way we could have found this on our own. We are very happy with this experience.

Great experience

10/10 you want to do this experience. The location Alfonso took us to was nothing short of breath taking. The hike was not to hard and the pay off was a beautiful beach that the group had to ourselves. Alfonso was a great host, funny and very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend this trip, you’ll leave with a great experience and no regrets.

Une journée exceptionnelle !

Alfo est un guide très serviable, à l’écoute, et très grand pour un espagnol :) Nous avons randonné sur un sentier peu connu, avec une vue surprenante. Sur lequel s’ajoute une crique secrète paradisiaque, nager avec des poissons en faisant snorkeling. Une journée exceptionnelle !

5 stars for everything! I had such an amazing time on this trip. Alfonso was so kind, he really helped me on the tougher areas when I was struggling. He’s full of laughter and joy. 100% recommend anyone who comes to Málaga to go on this hike with him. The snorkelling experience blew my mind. It was the cherry on top of the cake for this trip.

Great

A great experience with Alfonso going away from Malaga to a paradise beach! Alfonso told us everything about the plantation, avocado trees,fig and many other fruit trees. Great to walk around and feel the place; Even better to swim in the sea and see the fish swimming around me! Would defenitely recommand this tour!

Highly recommended

Highly recommended this magical experience. Alfonso was funny, entertaining, kind and sweet. A very likeable person. The hike was great and the hidden beach was breathtaking. I am so grateful for this experience. Also, remember to bring shoes with strong grip on them! I kept slipping and Alfonso graciously held my hand during the tough parts of the hike so I wouldn't fall!

Really recommend

Really recommend this trip. Was beautiful, even on a ‘not so hot’ day. For us the terrain was absolutely fine, we are used to really big mountain walks so this was a breeze. We took lots of breaks along the way too. Just listen to Alfonso and you will be fine! We also had a lovely snorkel and saw lots of fish(es)!

Enjoyed the hike immensely.

Enjoyed the hike immensely. A nice break from the city life. Cannot say much about snorkeling, as it was too cold and windy but the host quickly adapted and took us instead to visit an absolutely marvelous mountain village. Alfonso is certainly a right guy for the job. Experienced but not yet bored. Prime time. Definitely recommended for city dwellers.

Beautiful trip

I enjoyed this trip very much, it was very beautiful and fun. The only thing is that the hike was very difficult for me during the steep climbs and declines. You have to wear shoes that will not slip in the rubble, and long pants to protect from sharp branches. The views were magnificent and Alfonso did a great job at guiding us through the area. He was also very helpful during the hike too, making sure everyone was safe. The beach was beautiful but the water was too rough to go in, so we didnt get to experience the snorkling.

great guide

Alfonso was a great guide. Communication was straight forward and everything from pick up to drop off was seamless. Alfonso is super knowledgable, and introduced and showed us all the different fruits and veggies that grow in the area. If you have any questions about Malaga or things to see around in the area Alfonso has many recommendations and suggestions. The beach spot was just magical, the water is so clear and feels so refreshing after getting sweaty from hiking. We could have stayed all day. I can definitely recommend this experience if you love a fun hike with amazing views and discovering a more remote beach. :)

Priceless experience

What a great way to spend the day! So glad I chose to do this experience. From start to finish I could not fault it. Alfonso makes you feel at ease and makes an effort to chat with and include everyone so this created a nice vibe between us all. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this experience to others. It was money well spent for a priceless experience.

Enjoyable day

Thank you Alfonso for making our day so enjoyable. We met at a very convenient place near the station and from then on our host, Alfonso took great care of us. The drive out to Torcal wasn’t too far, across spectacular scenery towards the mountain. Alfonso is very friendly and knowledgable and made the journey seem shorter than it was. Torcal itself is quite spectacular and it seemed that few foreign tourists experience the beautiful park. I’m 54 and like to walk but I would recommend this to most people. The path is rugged but we went at an easy pace, stopping to view the scenery or listening to Alfonso imparting some information about the flora and fauna. The trek’s climax ends up on a rocky plateau with ancient fossil markings and a spectacular views. Although not guaranteed we did spot a mountain goat and vulture on our trek! All in all the excursion was great value for money. Comfortable transport, friendly and knowledgable guide and an amazing destination.

I think, visiting Torcal on your own it's not that easy - one has to know where to go. But it's definitely worth doing it as the views are stunning. On top, having Alfonso as a guide is something special - not only he shows some spots off the main paths, shares his knowledge but also he manages to create a very positive dynamics in the group. a super enjoyable experience!

Definitely worth it

Alfonso picked us up at the meeting point, he was on time and very personable. He lead us on a hike that would be impossible to do without prior knowledge and experience in the area. We appreciated his consideration for all the participants, he needed to give information in both Spanish and English and we were of varied ages so he paced it well. It was an amazing area to hike, great vistas, great photo opportunities and lots of interesting things to see—- fossils, flora, fauna and of course the unusual geography of the area. He was super knowledgeable and answered all our questions and more. Make sure you wear good shoes—- runners or hikers, it’s very uneven terrain. Definitely worth it, check it out!!!

highlight of our trip!

Alfonso has a great understanding of the Torcal, Antequera Park. He was knowledgeable of the geography, vegetation and animals found in the Andalucia region of Spain. I learned so much and found him to be an entertaining and fun guide. This hike was one of our highlights of our trip to Spain!

Das war ein super Ausflug!!!

Das war ein super Ausflug!!!! Sehr interessant und für jeden etwas dabei: Für Wanderexperten, Fotofreunde, entspannte Spaziergänger. Antonio hat mit viel Humor viele spannende Details über El Torcal, aber auch sein Leben erzählt und dadurch war der Ausflug sehr interessant. Ich würde mit Alfonso wieder wandern gehen :-)

Vi hade en riktigt skön eftermiddag och kväll. Vacker natur, lagom vandring med några branta partier. Det var skönt att svalka av sig i flodbäddarna. Vi blev bjudna på god ost och korv från regionen. Alfonso är en mycket kunnig guide som har mycket kunskaper om regionen. Allt som allt en mycket trevlig tur som vi varmt kan rekommendera.

Samen met mijn dochter van 16 deelgenomen aan deze wandeling. Alfonso is een leuke, gezellige gids met goede kennis van het gebied. Zijn Engels is prima en hij heeft goed contact met veel mensen in het witte dorpje waar je start en eindigt. De wandeling vond ik heel goed te doen, ook met een temperatuur van circa 28 graden. En aangekomen bij de rivier kun je een heerlijk verkoelend bad nemen. Dus neem vooral zwemkleding mee. In het dorp en ook halverwege de wandeling kun je je Dopper/waterfles (bij)vullen. Bij een volgend bezoek ga ik zeker weer een andere route bij Alfonso boeken: aanrader dus!

Definitely recommended

Our hike with Alfonso was perhaps our favorite part of our trip to Spain! Myself, my husband, and my two daughters (ages 12 and 15) enjoyed every part of the hike. We loved walking through the quaint little village, hiking through the olive groves and marveling at the Arab canals, seeing many wild goats, looking down the steep cliffs, and swimming in the beautiful waterfalls and pools. Alfonso also supplied a delicious snack. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the plants and animals along the path. I would definitely recommend this experience to anybody!

Wow, we had such a good day with Alfonso. We were 7 girls and he was a real gentlemen and took good care of us plus made us laugh a lot We had an apero that he prepared for us in the shadows before finishing the hike, and a glass of cava to celebrate that we did it! I recommend completely the experience! Thank you Alfonso!!!!

It was great to be guided by Alphonso in this experience. He has geography knowledge, he knows historical and local events related to the place and he presents them in a familiar and friendly manner. He is open and talkative and made me feel welcome in Caminito del Rey.

Fantastisk oplevelse. En uforglemmelig tur. Alfonso har blik for den enkelte gæst, og han er meget hjælpsom. Uddelte vand ved starten af turen, og havde bananer, brød, ost og pølse med. Stod i kø på holdets vegne, både ved indgangen og ved shuttlebussen. Lækker og komfortabel VW Van.

So much fun

I had a fantastic time hiking through a gorgeous natural area and snorkeling in an absolutely stunning cove with a great fun group of international folks. Normally, I don’t like organized guided outings but this one was a lovely surprise. Alfonso, our guide, made us all feel welcome, safe and capable. I really appreciated that he provided water, a snack, and snorkel masks so we could all just focus on enjoying the excursion. There were several times where I needed a hand — literally — and Alfonso was there to make sure I felt comfortable and less fearful about slipping. He is very charming and kind and has a great sense of humor and he definitely is knowledgeable about the geography, the history and the wildlife of the area. We had a nice chat about my previous life during la movida madrileña and then some fun trying out yoga poses on the beach with Stephanie and Shaimaa, two other women in our group. Alfonso made sure to look after everyone in our group and keep us all happily on the trail. After we got back to Malaga Alfonso sent us some “action” photos of us on the trail...which I really appreciated because I was too busy chatting and taking photos of the scenery and I didn’t take any photos of us actually walking the trail. Now I have Alfonso’s photos so I can “prove” to myself (and my kids) that I actually did this. LOL I’m already signed up for Alfonso’s hike in Saltillo Gorge and I’m sure it’ll be as nice as this excursion.

Wonderful

I had a wonderful time with Alfonso exploring the stunning coast in Nerja. I very much appreciated getting to soak up the beautiful natural landscape of Costa del Sol and swimming in the Mediterranean. Alfonso was so friendly, helpful, easy mannered, and funny. Great experience

Venturing out into Nerja with Alfonso was the best part of my week in Málaga. As a solo traveler, it is super important to have a sense of friendship and support along our journeys; not only did I bond with other people in our group during our drive to Nerja and hike, but I came away from the experience realizing that despite our varied levels of “ability” (take this from the slowest-moving one in the group #ThanksAsthma), we each brought something to and participated in our nature hike with appreciation for each other and the scenery around us. Note to seasoned & little bb trekkers like me alike: take the water he gives you, create a (Hidden by Airbnb) group with your participants to share pictures, ask Alfonso questions about all the plants you see (this is his speciality, don’t let that information go to waste), and don’t be afraid to take a minute to admit that you can’t fly up and down mountains with incredible ease haha Alfonso WILL let you rest. I’m so happy to have met such an incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, motivated, and inspiring person during my month abroad. Absolutly loved it

As a solo traveller, I was really looking forward to participating this tour and I absolutely loved it! Was happy with the people in the same group and it become the highlight of my trip. Alfonso is very friendly and knowledgeable the hidden beach we got to after the hike was beautiful!

5 starts!!!

This was really special. Just be prepared- the hike is intense. AMAZING, but intense. But do not be worried. Alfonso is there to help at every step of the way and held my friends hand the whole time because she kept on falling. The hike is beyond beautiful and you end is this secluded spot where you swim in the bluest clearest part of the Mediterranean. Alfonso is sooo funny and he forms an instant connection with you. He is super patient and really has a passion for the beautiful nature of Spain. He is not touristy in the best way possible and really gives a unique taste of Spanish culture. I would definitely recommend 5 starts!!

absolutely stunning beach

This was one of the highlights of my visit to Malaga! :) It was just amazing! So, leave everything to Alfonoso and enjoy the adventure. You get to see different things, learn new stuff and enjoy an absolutely stunning beach. We all wished it could last longer :)))
