Frigiliana hiking tour and wine tasting, from Málaga – Small Group (8p max) –

The trip to Frigiliana

We will depart from Málaga city center (calle ordoñez nº2). It is a 45 minutes driving until Frigiliana in our confortable van. We will cross the Axarquia valley.

The hike. Walking around Frigiliana and the natural park

We start the excursion in the highest part of Frigiliana. This town is known as the most beautiful town in Málaga, and probably in Andalusia. Early in the morning we are almost alone in town. The streets here are full of plants and pots which contrast with the white houses.

We will visit the most beautiful streets in town while learning about its history and traditions. We will ascend until the highest part of the town through medieval streets stuck in time.

Once outside the town, we will start to enjoy the panoramic views. There, you realize how tough were these steep lands for the first colonizers. Following the path, we will cross some avocado plantations in the way to the natural park.

We are already in the natural park . We will take the arab irrigation cannal to get into the natural park. The views from there are breathtaking. We have the mediterranean sea as backround and the Higueron river at the botton of the valley. The walkway crosses a tipical mmediterranean forest where we will discover the wildlife.

Wine tasting in the oldest cellar in town

It is time to come back to Frigiliana from the natural park. We will suround the arab castle (Castillo de Lizar), which is on ruins, before we enter in Frigiliana again. In this area we will cross some of the most stunning view points with views over Frigiliana and the mediterranean sea.

We will visit other side of Frigiliana, descending steep pedestrian streets until the oldest cellar in town. Here we will enjoy a wine tasting with diferent local wines.

The way back from Frigiliana

Once we finish the wine tasting we will go to the starting point. We still have time to buy some local products. We always recomend to try the local avocados, chirimoyas, mangos and other tropical fruits.

Once in the van, we come back to Málaga city center. There is the option of being dropped off in Nerja if the traveler wants to visit it. Nerja is a vacational city with some interesting spots. It is connected with Malaga city by bus.
